What You Will Need:
- 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil
- 1 cup of soy flour
- 1 cup unbleached white flour
- 1 and a half cups of distilled or purified water
- Half a teaspoon baking powder
- Dash of sea salt
Note: If you are using a gluten free flour in your mixture, make sure you also add an egg as well, as this will replace the gluten that binds together the mixture.
How to Make the Pita Bread:
- Mix the olive oil, the water and the salt. Add the baking powder and flour, and mix to a smooth consistency like a pancake mixture.
- Rub inside of frying pan with a paper towel dipped in olive oil. Let frying pan sit for 10 minutes.
- Put the frying pan on a hob at a medium-to-low heat, and wait for about three minutes before tipping the batter into the centre of the pan.
- Tilt the frying pan in a circular motion until the whole of the bottom of the pan is covered with the desired thickness of batter.
- Once the top of the mixture has gone dry, flip it over and cook the other side. This should take about a minute on each side.
- Eat.
